Dr. William Weston (1874-1962) was the first pediatrician in the Southeast. Dr. Weston and his son, Dr. William Weston Jr. (1898-1994) practiced for over 50 years as a father and son office. Dr. Weston Jr. retired in 1977.

Dr. S. Nelson Weston, a third generation pediatrician, and Dr. Charles A. James formed Sandhills Pediatrics as a partnership in 1975. Dr. James began his practice in 1960. Dr. Weston began his practice of pediatrics in 1967.

Dr. James and Dr. Weston were joined in 1976 by Dr. William G. Taylor, in 1989 by Dr. Kevin O. Wessinger and in 1993 by Dr. Michael T. Finch, Jr. Currently we have fourteen pediatricians, all of whom are certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, to serve the needs of your children.

Sandhills Pediatrics has a long and distinguished history of caring for children. We offer a comprehensive and well-rounded medical service to your children from birth through college age.
